Igor Sikorsky Polytechnic Institute has become the first higher education institution in Ukraine to officially join the National Bank of Ukraine BankID System as a non-commercial service provider. This achievement was preceded by more than a year of work, numerous consultations, and negotiations between Igor Sikorsky Polytechnic Institute, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and the National Bank of Ukraine.
The initiative to connect the university was launched by the Information and Computing Center of Igor Sikorsky Polytechnic Institute. During the review process, it was found that public higher education institutions could effectively join BankID only under commercial conditions. Since this could limit the further development of digital services and electronic interaction in education, Igor Sikorsky Polytechnic Institute initiated consultations with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the National Bank of Ukraine. As a result of joint efforts, a mechanism for non-commercial connection of public educational institutions was created.
Thus, Igor Sikorsky Polytechnic Institute not only became the first university connected to BankID NBU on a non-commercial basis but also opened the possibility of free connection to the system for other public universities of Ukraine. The role of Igor Sikorsky Polytechnic Institute in creating this opportunity was recently highlighted by NV Business.
Currently, the Information and Computing Center team is working on the technical integration of BankID NBU into university services and further development of the digital ecosystem of Igor Sikorsky Polytechnic Institute.
