Volodymyr graduated from the Department of Machine Design of the Educational and Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering in 2007.
He took an active part in the Revolution of Dignity. In 2015 he worked as a design engineer but he volunteered for war. Volodymyr served as a reconnaissance officer.
In 2016, during a combat mission in the gray zone near the village of Yasne in Donetsk region, he tripped a mine. Volodymyr received serious injuries, and lost both legs.
Although just in a month and a half, the fighter got prosthetics. Then Volodymyr became interested in sports and participated in the competition among adaptive athletes “Hero Games”.
Volodymyr Kovalsky died defending Bucha together with the local Territory Defence forces on February 27, 2022. He is survived by his wife and a six-year-old son.
