December 14 Ambassador of Japan Toichi Sakata donated to the State Polytechnic Museum at "KPI" Japanese model of space rocket "H-IIB".

On the 2nd of September in NTUU “KPI” an unusual event took place.

The second president of Ukraine Leonid Danilovich Kuchma was awarded at ceremonial meeting of administrative council of NTUU "KPI" on November 25 on the occasion of assignment to it ranks "The honourable doctor of NTUU "KPI", the cloak and a breastplate is handed.

Celebrations to mark the 45th anniversary of the exit of the first man in the open space, and the 35th anniversary of the joint flight program "Soyuz-Apollo" took place in NTUU "KPI" on March 30. Among the guests there were  A.A.

December 17 the first rector of NTU "KPI" Y. Yakymenko and deputy chairman of the All-Ukrainian association "Prosvita" prof. A. Ponomariv, solemnly cut the symbolic ribbon and opened the Ukrainian Educational and Cultural Center "KPI".
