Herman Smetanin became the chairman of the Ukrainian Defense Industry Joint Stock Company (the successor of the State Concern "Ukroboronprom"). His appointment was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
"A young progressive leader. He has worked his way up in the defense industry from an engineer to a plant manager," wrote Oleksandr Kamyshin, Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine.
At Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Herman received a second degree in management of the defense industry.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set Smetanin three main tasks: to increase the production of all weapons, to cleanse the industry of corruption, and to complete the defense reform.
