For many years in a row, the University Educational and Research Center for Applied Sociology "Socioplus" (scientific director - A.A. Melnychenko) has been conducting surveys of the KPI community on aspects of its life. Starting in 2014, the questionnaires of students and teachers began to include questions about the manifestations of dishonesty and corruption at the university.

The survey reports allowed the authorized person on corruption prevention (https://kpi.ua/anticor) to prepare proposals for changes in the system of business process management at the university, which will contribute to the coordinated work of all departments and officials to minimize corruption risks in their activities and to form a zero tolerance to corruption and dishonesty.

Of course, there are still problems to be worked on, but the main goal set by the university remains the same - integrity and zero tolerance to corruption!

In this regard, the data from the surveys of participants in the educational process on issues related to corruption over the past three years are interesting.

The survey method was an online survey using the Google Forms service. Links to the surveys were distributed through the personal accounts of higher education students and teachers in the KPI Electronic Campus system. In the 2020/2021 academic year, 3320 respondents took part in the survey of applicants, in 2021/2022 - 4536, in 2022/2023 - 4424. In the survey of teachers in the academic year 2022/2023, the number of respondents was 1449.

A comparative analysis of the results of the surveys for three years, conducted by Socioplus experts, showed that they remained stable and the difference in answers depending on the question ranged from 0.02% to 0.5%.

For example, to the question "Did you give any of your teachers a certain reward for passing/retaking an exam/exam (increasing the grade on the exam) during the last session" in the 2020/2021 academic year, 99.5% of higher education students at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute gave a negative answer, in 2021/2022 - 99.6%, in 2022/2023 - 99.4%.

To the question "Did you have to pay any money for the use of university infrastructure (sports grounds, workrooms, library halls, etc.)?" in the 2020/2021 academic year, 97.4% of respondents answered negatively, in 2021/2022 - 97.9%, in 2022/2023 - 97.9%.

Discrepancy in answers to the question about the form of remuneration (if any) received by the teacher for passing/retaking an exam/assessment or improving the grade on the exam - in the form of a valuable gift, purchase of books or textbooks, monetary reward, a "traditional" package with candy and alcoholic beverages, performance of certain services, etc., ranged from 0.04% to 0.3% (with the largest 0.3% related to providing positive feedback on the website, or on the telegram channel or in the AIS "Electronic Campus"). And these are the shares of those tenths of a percent of respondents who answered positively to the first question about whether they had given any of their teachers a reward for passing an exam or improving their grades. On the one hand, this is a rather positive indicator. However, it should not be reassuring: given the number of respondents, the fractions of percent in absolute terms can reach a dozen people, so there is still work to be done. The survey is not only a mirror of the situation, but also a tool for identifying certain problems and areas for further work.
