Student of the Faculty of Sociology and Law – the prize winner of the second stage of Ukrainian Student Olympiad in the history of Ukraine, which was held on March, 22-23 2013 on the base of the Training and Research Institute of History and Law of Mykolaiv National University named after V.O. Suhomlinskiy. 36 profession-oriented and 27 universities participated in the competition, the total number of participants was 132 students.
The first place was taken by representative of Kharkov National University named after V.N Karazin Cyril Kashtanov , the second place was shared by 7 participants , 10 participants received diplomas of the third degree. Among them was a student of the 5th year of the Faculty of Sociology and Law of NTUU "KPI" Stanislav Motorniy . This is a good result for the not profession-oriented university.
The Department of history considers that students, who represented "KPI" at the competition, have a great scientific prospects. The KPI gives good opportunities for further growth, increasing knowledge and improving professional skills.
When Stanislav was asked what specifically attracted him to the subject of history, he told that he wanted to understand why there were certain processes in the country, what had caused them etc. At the competition great interest was found in the communication with contemporaries, exploring the city which has a long history. The Organizing Committee of the competiton has contributed to not only scientific achievements but also to cultural and entertaining activities. The participants had the possibility to go on a trip to the national historical and archeological reserve "Olvia " , visiting the Museum of naval glory of Plant named after 61 Communards and museum complex “Staroflotski barracks ." In addition, by the efforts of the Institute of History and Law the sightseeing tours were held at the Museum of Archeology and Ethnography Institute.
" During my studying at the KPI – Stanislav tells - I realized that the main task of the university is not providing basic knowledge, but developing in students a methodology for solving various tasks in difficult situations for self- searching and ordering required information ". Stanislav believes that KPI students receive a high quality education and high scores at the competitions and other various ratings is a proof for this statement .
