Temporary regulations on the organization of educational process in NTUU "KPI": 6.1. Training sessions



The main kinds of academics are: lectures, laboratorial, practices, seminars, computer workshop, individual training sessions and consultations.

Lecture - the main type of training sessions intended for presentation of theoretical material.

Typically, a lecture is part of a lecture course that covers basic theoretical material of one or more topics of the subject. Topics and content determined by the traning program of lectures credit module (CM).

Lectures are held by lecturers,  professors and associate professors and also by leading scientists and experts which were invited to the lecture. As an exception (for one academic year), lectures can be assigned to a senior teacher with the permission of the director of the institute / dean, where students study. Candidates for lecturers are not included in the staff of teaching, the staff shall be approved by the director of the Institute / Dean of the submission of the relevant heads of departments.

Lecturer in charge lecturing, shall not later than 3 months before the school year to submit folded his Head of Department of the Cabinet work program, a set of individual tasks (if scheduled) and diagnostic tools for semester control.

The lecturer, who will read lectures on this discipline for the first time must submit his lecture notes compiled (author textbook) and conduct a trial lectures to scientific and teaching staff and researchers of the department.

Lecturer is obliged to observe the work program of the Cabinet on the subject and content of the lectures, but are not limited to matters of interpretation of educational material, forms and methods of its presentation.

The lecture is conducted in accordance with equipped premises - classrooms. The lecture can be carried out using equipment with interactive access.

The following types of lectures:

  • Introduction - lecturer introduces students to the purpose and objectives of the course and its place in the system of training and relationship with other disciplines of the curriculum, as well as the distribution of teaching time for occupations, methodical study of the peculiarities of the course of the semester and individual tasks, forms Students reporting and attestation requirements for knowledge and skills, criteria assessment of learning outcomes, with the principle rating system testing (RSO). Acquaints students with textbooks and teaching materials;
  • Information - consistently lecturer teaching content of educational material in accordance with the requirements of the work program of the Cabinet;
  • Problem - by using elements problematic (problem issue, problem tasks and situations, etc.) learning process of students approaching the search, research, at the expense of secured achieve three main objectives: effective mastering theoretical knowledge, the development of theoretical thinking, forming cognitive interest the content of the course and future professional motivation expert;
  • Survey - that section is read at the end of the course. This lecture should reflect the general content of the main theoretical positions that make up the scientific and conceptual basis for this section. The lecture consists of the following elements:

The main requirements for didactic lectures are:

  • High scientific and theoretical level;

  • High educational impact on students.

In organizing and conducting lectures in the speaker should be:

  • KM work program;
  • Plan a lecture;
  • Compendium of abstracts or lecture;
  • Means of ensuring visibility (multimedia presentations, posters, models, etc.);
  • Journal of Academic academic groups in which scientific staff member should make a record of a lecture.

Laboratory work - the kind of lesson in which students under the guidance of scientific-pedagogical employee conduct experiments simulation experiments or research to practical confirmation of some theoretical positions, gets practical experience of laboratory equipment, equipment, computing equipment, measuring equipment, masters technique experimental Research in a particular subject area and processing the results.

Laboratory classes are held in a specially equipped training labs using equipment adapted to the educational process (laboratory models, settings, etc.). For laboratory studies academic group is divided into two subgroups. The division is possible when the number of sub-groups of at least 12 students. On some subjects, allowing for the study of these subjects and life safety of students allowed the division of academic group into subgroups with lesser number. The structure of the laboratory work:

  • Introduction - the theme of work, its purpose, objectives, motivation, performance; Controls of preparedness of students in a particular laboratory work; briefing on the tasks and the possible exclusion of standard errors;

  • The final part - carrying out quality control tasks; the definition of common errors in the laboratory analysis of the objectives and means of prevention; evaluation of the performance of each student based on established criteria; from her homework to prepare for the next independent laboratory classes.

The final score, according to the criteria RSO, entered in the rating list and the register of laboratory work and taken into account in the rating of student learning outcomes KM. Positive assessments, student obtained for all laboratory work, provided the work program, is a prerequisite for admission to semester student control of the CM.

In organizing and conducting laboratory studies in the scientific and pedagogical worker should be:

  • KM work program;
  • Guidelines for laboratory work with CM;
  • Control tasks (tests) for the control of preparedness of students in laboratory work and evaluation criteria;
  • Journal of availability and condition of equipment and devices in which the responsible person indicates their date of last inspection;
  • Journal of instruction on safety in laboratory work;
  • Journal of laboratory work;
  • Safety instructions in a place accessible to the general inspection;
  • Journal of Academic academic group in which scientific and pedagogical worker should make record of the occupation.

Computer workshop - the kind of lesson in which scientific and pedagogical staff organizes individual work of students on a PC in order to develop skills to practical use certain membranes programs.

Computer workshop held in specially equipped komp'yu¬ternyh classes (educational laboratories). Computer workshops should be provided methodical development - Guidance for computer workshops.

For the computer workshop academic group is divided into two subgroups. The division is possible when the number of sub-groups of at least 12 students.

The list of topics is determined by computer practical work program of the Cabinet. Replacing other types of computer practical classes are not allowed.

The organization and carrying out practical work in computer science and pedagogical worker should be:

  • KM work program;
  • Guidance for workshops on computer KM;
  • Control tasks (tests) for the control of preparedness of students in a computer workshop and their evaluation;
  • Logbook performance computer workshops;
  • Journal of availability and condition of equipment and devices in which the responsible person indicates their date of last inspection;
  • Safety instructions in a place accessible to the general inspection;
  • Journal of Academic academic group in which scientific and pedagogical worker should make record of the occupation.

Workshop - kind of lesson in which students under the guidance of scientific and pedagogical worker due to some various tasks, reinforce the theoretical concepts of the course and acquire the skills of their practical application.

The main didactic requirements for workshops are:

  • Provide professional orientation;
  • The use of scientific methods and knowledge appropriate conceptual apparatus;
  • The disclosure of specific examples of the organic unity of theory and practice;
  • Ensure logical sequence of construction classes;
  • Rational use of appropriate didactic teaching methods that shape students' independent creativity.

Practical classes are held in classrooms or educational laboratories, equipped with the necessary technical facilities, computers and more. On some subjects, allowing for the study of these subjects and life safety of students allowed the division of academic group in several subgroups. The division is possible when the number of sub-groups of at least 12 students. The list of these disciplines Methodical Board on the recommendation approved by the university rector. In organizing and conducting practical exercises in scientific and pedagogical worker should be:

  • KM work program;
  • Plan of practical lessons;
  • Individual tasks of varying complexity;
  • Required equipment (models, tools, etc.);
  • Means of ensuring visibility (multimedia presentations, posters, etc.);
  • Control tasks (tests) and their evaluation;
  • Journal of Academic academic groups in which scientific pedaho-tech worker has to make a record of the classes.

Seminars - kind of lesson in which scientific staff member organizes discussion on pre-defined problems. Based on the plan seminars students prepare theses on these issues.

The main purpose of seminars - providing practical application of theoretical knowledge in conditions that simulate the shape of the scholars, substantive and social context of this activity. Scientific staff member to organize and provide scientific debate: the expansion of knowledge related to specific problems in the search for new already known, the transfer of knowledge in new situations and conditions, etc.

The list of topics of seminars determined work program CM. The seminars are held in classrooms or classrooms with one academic group.

Each seminars scientific staff member, according to the criteria RSO, evaluates the performances of students in a discussion of their activity, the ability to formulate and defend their position and others. Obtained student assessment for individual seminars made to the rating lists and captured in the ranking of student learning outcomes KM.

In organizing and conducting seminars in scientific and pedagogical worker should be:

  • KM work program;
  • Plan of seminars;
  • Means of ensuring visibility (multimedia presentations, posters, etc.);
  • Criteria evaluation of performances of students;
  • Journal of Academic academic groups in which scientific staff member should make a record of conducting classes.
