Amosov Mykola Mykhailovych

Amosov Mykola (6/12/1913 village Olhovo modern Vologda region, RRSFR - 12.12.2002, Kyiv, buried in the Baikove cemetery ) - Ukrainian doctor, scientist in medicine and Biocybernetics, public figure, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (1969) and the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine (1993), Winner of Lenin Prize (1961), USSR State Prize (1978, 1988) and State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology (1997). Director of the Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery (1983 - 1988). Doctor of Medicine (1953).

Michael Zgurovsky, the Rector of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, academician of the NAS of Ukraine was awarded a medal named after M. M. Amosov for his contribution to the development of national science and the establishment of the School of Biomedical Engineering and Biocybernetics in Ukraine.
