On September 11, at the age of 65, an outstanding scientist, doctor of technical sciences, professor at the Department of Aircraft Manufacturing Technologies Serhiy Petrovych Gozhiy passed away.
He worked as an assistant to the rector in 1999–2001, then he was the executive officer at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in 2001–2003.
The results of his scientific developments were published in 85 scientific papers, 15 textbooks and monographs, and protected by 14 patents.
Serhiy Petrovych trained academic personnel, PhD, worked as a member of a number of committees of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, was a member of two Councils on award of the PhD degree, a deputy first vice-rector, and the head of the academic services office of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.

Serhiy Petrovych Gozhiy enjoyed a richly deserved honour from colleagues and students, and took an active part in public life,"- the Facebook page of the Educational and Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering notes.
Last respects to Serhiy Petrovych Gozhiy will take place at the church with the address at Kyiv, vul. Harmatna, 37 (vul. Zahidna) on Wednesday, September 14, at 11:30 a.m.
