Contact micro-welding is an effective technology used to reliably connect miniature parts in precision instrumentation and in the manufacture of electronic components and circuits.

Using only steel wire, KPI students created unique sensual compositions of couples in love, which now adorn the 23rd building. The author of the sculptures, Serhii Minakov, associate professor of the E.O. Paton Institute of Mechanical Engineering, united them under the title "Feelings".

To the 85th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding KPI graduate Volodymyr Fartushnyi. With the advent of the era of space flight, design engineers became interested in the idea of creating orbital space complexes and even entire human settlements in Earth orbit and on the Moon.

Associate Professor of the Department of Electric Welding Installations of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Yevheniia Chvertko will join the Board of Directors of the International Institute of Welding (IIW).

This year marks 140 years since the invention and demonstration of electric arc welding by Nikolay Benardos. In 1881 in Paris, when Benardos was producing batteries, he first demonstrated a new way of metal compounds.

Associate Professor of the Department of Welding Machines Yevgeniya Chvertko became the first representative of Ukraine (and the second woman in the world) in the audit committee since last year which accomplishes independent verification of the certification work and training centres working under the licenses of the International Institute of Welding.

Among the projects presented by the Polytechnics at the Festival of Innovation Projects “Sikorsky Challenge:, visitors attention was attracted to the work devoted to contact spot welding. Such technology is widely used in automotive, instrumentation and other industries.

Borys Paton, the head of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Institute of Electro-welding, which bears the name of his father, not only became a kind of symbol of the industry, but also made a lot of effort to bring it to the international level. It was he who helped to add Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute to the international community of professionals and experts in connection technologies and processes with which these technologies are inextricably linked
