On July 5, a monument to one of its famous employees, whose name is forever inscribed in the history of the national aircraft industry, was unveiled on the campus of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”. It is about the extraordinary professor of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Oleksandr Sergiyovych Kudashev, one of the first domestic aircraft designers.
In 1991 Ukraine gained independence. A new page in its history marked a radical restructuring of the entire life of the country and its citizens.
On this day, May 25, 1889, Igor Sikorsky was born - a world-famous student of Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, a brilliant aircraft designer, tireless inventor and desperate pilot who conquered Europe and the United States.
His helicopters saved millions of lives, and other aircraft broke all possible speed records.

Petro Mykhailovych Talanchuk is a graduate of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, and from 1987 to 1992 he was the rector of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, the first Minister of Education of independent Ukraine.
