September 18-19, the training "Information and communication tech-nologies" was held at NTUU"KPI". It was organized by the project of the Seventh Framework Programme of the EU "EAST-HORIZON" in conjunction with the project "EECA-2-HORIZON" and the National Contact Point for ICT at NTUU"KPI" (Coordinator - Head of International Projects ICD Professor Sergei Shukaev).
The training was attended by the representatives of the Ukrainian universities and research organizations working in the projects of the Framework Programme of the European Union's scientific, technological and innovation development "HORIZON 2020".
The main purpose of this meeting was to familiarize the participants with the new ICT program "HORIZON 2020". During the training, the initiative EAST-HORIZON was also presented.
Participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the general structure and features of the program "HORIZON 2020", the method of preparation of project proposals and methods to find partners and to prepare an information profile. They also discussed the role of ICT in addressing the area of "Social Challenges" ("Health, demographic change and well-being," "Safe, clean and efficient energy," "Smart, environmentally safe and integrated transport "," Climate change, environment , resource efficiency and raw materials "). During the training representatives of the orgainizations-participants also presented the research areas in which they work and which are consistent with the program" HORIZON 2020 ", and described the achievements of their teams in these areas.
