Finding of effective methods teaching foreign languages are concerned for a long time and scientists, and teachers and students. Public demand and today Ukraine's course towards European integration add new aspects to this problem, including its importance include the following:

  • Knowledge of a foreign language (mostly English) is a prerequisite for the entry of Education of Ukraine to the single European and world educational and scientific space;
  • Mobility of citizens (students, professionals, etc.) in the international intellectual market and building the EHEA possible only if fluency in the international language of communication, which in fact has become English.

This problem we worry about, teachers of English at the leading universities of Ukraine - "KPI". For us, teaching - is a dynamic process, but rather - life, which consists of research, creativity and self-improvement. Life is full of the joy of achievement, improvement and concrete results, and sometimes problems, conflicts and misunderstandings. Several years of teaching English to students of non-linguistic specialties made by teachers led by the head of the department T.P.Pavlovoyu. In terms of restructuring of the educational process in the light of current requirements on the department always boils work: new ideas, interesting meetings with leading linguists, methodologists and scientists, foreign experts and talented teachers in general. Special attention is given intensive training methods, all the while being awareness among students to increase motivation to learn English. At the suggestion T.P.Pavlovoyi at the Department organized "Association of Teachers of English" - is the avant-garde, which examines the current state, problems and prospects of language training, developing and introducing new teaching methods. Among the objectives is also to help young teachers to overcome difficulties "first class", removing the barrier of stiffness that often occurs in young teachers and students with low level training in English. In planning and organizing workshops to help experienced teachers N.S.Sayenko, O.M.Leonova, N.I.Karpenko and others.

Initially reluctant to talk about their problems, and when it turned out that they have common - began to look for solutions. Over time visiting other teachers who gladly shared their teaching "secrets" and achievements. There are a lot of problems in teaching English language. One of them - actively joining the Bologna process, which is characterized by high dynamism and scope and requires radical changes in approaches to teaching English, activation of new learning technologies. That should make it in time. And there is its own specificity teaching English in "KPI". This professional learning English, and a small number of hours, different levels and students in one group and another. But despite all these problems, the task of teachers - to teach students professional foreign language communication - implemented very successfully.

The department is actively working on the introduction of multimedia technology teaching foreign languages. After that new information technology will be an integral, efficient and effective part of learning foreign languages. Every year the lecturer organized student scientific conferences, where students 3-4 courses all fakultetivinstytutiv present their studies with a degree in English. This line of work introduced methodological council department.

At the meeting of the Association established the experimental group conducted tests of various kinds, selected tasks, build model study, conducted discussions. There results: the introduction of new techniques and methods. Teachers at the meetings of the Association are divided opinions on the advantages and disadvantages of innovations in teaching English, develop proposals to improve teaching methods.

Thus, the work of the Association is not in vain.
