8.1. Positions of scientific and pedagogical workers can be held by persons who have a scientific degree or academic title, as well as persons who have a master's degree. During the filling of vacant positions of scientific and pedagogical workers - heads of departments, professors, associate professors, senior teachers, teachers, the conclusion of an employment agreement (contract) is preceded by a competitive selection, the procedure of which is approved by the Academic Council of the University.
8.2. The working time of the scientific and pedagogical workers is 36 hours per week (reduced working hours) and includes the time of their educational, methodological, scientific, organizational work and other work responsibilities. Norms of time of educational, methodical, scientific, organizational work are defined by Regulations on planning and the account of pedagogical loading of scientific and pedagogical workers of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
8.3. The main documents that determine the organization of scientific and pedagogical workers load during the school year are its Individual work plan (contains a list of the main types of methodological, scientific, organizational and educational work) and employment contract.
8.4. Execution of individual plans of scientific and pedagogical workers is controlled by the head of the department and discussed at the meetings of the department with a critical assessment of the quality of each type of work, the requirement of personal explanation by each executor of the reasons for low quality, late performance or non-performance of work.
8.5. In case of impossibility to provide the educational process with available full-time employees, in some cases, vacant positions of scientific and pedagogical workers may be filled under the employment contract until the competitive replacement of these positions in the current academic year.
8.6. The rights and responsibilities of the scientific and pedagogical workers are determined by the legislation of Ukraine, the employment contract, job description and regulations of the University.
8.7. In order to facilitate the adaptation of students to the educational process at the university, conducting individual and general educational work among students of the group, clarifying the problems of students and providing them with possible assistance, promptly informing students about the University's regulatory framework, etc. Dean of the Faculty / Director of the Institute on the proposal of the departments appoints curators who act in accordance with the Regulations on the curator of the academic groups of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
8.8. In order to increase the efficiency of organizational support of the educational process in the academic group and to increase the involvement of students in the life of the University, the staff of the academic group elects the group monitor, who is the representative of the academic group before the dean's office.
8.9. Applicants for higher education have the rights and obligations provided by the legislation of Ukraine, the regulatory framework of the University and the agreement (contract) concluded between the University and the person studying, or a individual (legal person )who pays for such studying.
8.10. The organization of the educational process for students with special needs, the implementation of their academic rights at the University is carried out in accordance with current legislation and the Regulations on the organization of inclusive education in Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
