🤝 Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute hosted a meeting with representatives of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Paul Heslop, Senior Mine Action Adviser at the United Nations Resident Coordinator's Office in Ukraine, as well as representatives of the international organizations PCM and MAT Kosovo (Kosovo Mine Action Training Centre).
📃 Discussions focused on joint projects, training specialists in accordance with the International Mine Action Standards (IMAS), and attracting international support for the development of humanitarian demining in Ukraine.
The university presented two key initiatives to its partners:
🔹 the establishment of an International Mine Action Safety and Humanitarian Demining Training Centre at the university to train specialists in the detection, identification, and disposal of explosive hazards;
🔹 the Safety Hub network concept — a system of modern training spaces designed to prepare students and academic staff to respond effectively during national resistance, wartime, and emergency situations. The project will support the implementation of the new academic course, "Fundamentals of National Resistance."
This educational and training infrastructure will strengthen the practical preparation of specialists, expand international cooperation, and contribute to the further development of Ukraine's national humanitarian demining system.
