On August 31, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute held a seminar “Prospects of Development of Ukrainian-Polish Students and Academic Staff Mobility”. The organizers of the seminar were the Polish Educational Foundation “Perspectives”, the Committee on Foreign Cooperation of the Conference of Rectors of Higher Educational Institutions of Poland and the Ukrainian - Polish Center of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”.
The chairman of the Committee on Foreign Cooperation of the Conference of Rectors of the Higher Technical Schools of Poland, the Rector of the Opole Polytechnic University Marek Tukendorff, the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of Poznan Polytechnic Teofil Yesenovsky, the director of the non-governmental organization “Association of Educational Advisors” Lidia Cheremchik-Shmyk etc took part as Polish representatives. The Perspective Foundation was represented by its President Valdemar Sivinski and Dina Sokolova, Program Coordinator of “Study in Poland”. Emilia Yasyuk, Head of the Scientific-Educational Cooperation Department of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Ukraine, also participated in the discussion of the issues on the agenda of the seminar. The Ukrainian side was represented by the Rector of the KPI, the academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Michael Zgurovsky, the director of the State Enterprise “Ukrainian State Center of International Education” Olena Shapovalova, Vice-rector on International Relations department of the KPI, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Serhiy Sidorenko, Vice-rector responsible for educational work Peter Kirichok, deputy pro-rector for international affairs of the KPI, the head of the international projects department Sergiy Shukaev, director of the Post-Graduate Education Institute of the KPI Inna Malyukova, Head of the Academic Mobility Department Tetyana Kuchynska, staff of the Ukrainian-Polish Center of the University, representatives of a number of other universities and others.
The seminar has discussed the status, opportunities and prospects of expanding of academic mobility between the universities of both countries. The participants also considered some issues of organization of the next Ukrainian-Polish Forum of the Association of Rectors of Higher Technical Institutions of Ukraine and the Conference of Rectors of Technical Universities of the Republic of Poland, which is scheduled for next year in Warsaw.
