September 25, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Toichi Sakata visited NTUU"KPI".

This was a last visit Toichi Sakata as a plenipotentiary representative of Japan in our country in the Kiev Polytechnic as the cadence of his stay in Ukraine is nearing completion. He repeatedly visited the University, spoke to students, actively supported the activities of Ukrainian-Japanese Center, facilitated visits to the KPI Japanese statesmen, scientists and high-tech business. He helped in organization of joint with Japanese scientific and educational institutions, scientific, educational and cultural projects, strengthen links between researchers of both countries, the establishment of academic exchanges and the like . His approach was very professional, because he worked in his country for many years in senior positions in the field of planning and technology policy and the management of science and education. There are between him and his embassy, on the one hand, and the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute - on the other hand, not just business, but really friendly relations. Therefore, the meeting of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Toichi Sakata, First Secretary of the Embassy Keyichi Sasaki and the Third Secretary of the Embassy Sho Matsudaira, with the leadership of NTUU "KPI" was informal and very warm.

Rector of NTUU "KPI" NASU academician Michael Zgurovsky said to Mr. Toichi Sakata the words of respect, friendship and sincere gratitude for the cooperation and support of the university.

The meeting was also attended by the president of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Director of the Institute of Telecommunications and Global Information Space Stanislav Dovgy, Vice-Rector for International Relations KPI corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Sergey Sidorenko, his deputy Yevgeny Polishchuk, employees Ukrainian Japanese Center NTUU "KPI "and others.

In memory of friendship and cooperation with KPI Rector presented the Ambassador of Japan book-album about Kiev and a picture of the historic first building of the University.
