People vital activity has a negative impact on the environment, degrades the ecology and consumes non-renewable resources of the Earth. 34-46% of the wastewater goes directly to the natural water bodies of Ukraine. Their quality does not meet the maximum permissible norms. An excess of ammonium nitrogen is 2-15 times, nitrates in 7-20 times. Use of such water harmful to health. Today, most of the existing stations of biological wastewater treatment can not provide the required quality of water for nitrogen compounds.
A young researcher from the Department of environmental biotechnology and bioenergy FBB Veronika Zhukova is working long enough on the issue of wastewater treatment using immobilized microorganisms with high removal efficiency of nitrogen compounds, with minimal power consumption and a small volume of waste. She published 26 scientific papers, including 7 articles in professional journals, numerous works in domestic and foreign journals. She has 2 patents of Ukraine for invention, and 6 - for a useful model. For active inventive activity in 2011, 2012 she was awarded a sertificate and a diploma NTUU"KPI". She is the Winner of university competition "Invention of the Year 2012" as the co-author of a patent "Method for biological wastewater treatment." In 2013, on the basis of university competition "Young teacher-researcher" V.Zhukova was named among the winners.
It all started over a decade ago at the National University of Water Management and Natural Resourses Use (NUWMNRU, m. Rivne), where Veronica started her training at the Faculty of water management in the specialty "Water supply and sanitation." In 2008, she successfully defended her master's thesis and received a diploma with honors. During the five years of study she successfully engaged in scientific work. At the university contest of student research papers in 2008, her work was recognized as the best. In 2008-2009. V.Zhukova worked as an intern researcher at the Department of Sanitation, heat and ventilation NUWMNRU. But she want to try the hand at a serious matter.
In 2009-2012, she was the post-graduate student of NTUU "KPI", on specialty 05.17.21 "Technology of Water Treatment" under the direction of Prof. Larissa Andreevna Sabliy. Professionalism of the talanted teacher and successful scientist Larissa Andreevna, her ability to inspire, teach and direct the student's activity played a decisive role in the formation of Veronica as a scientist. The spring of 2013 V.S.Zhukova successfully defended her thesis for the degree of candidate of technical sciences in the specialized scientific council D 26.002.13 NTUU"KPI".
Veronika Zhukova participated in the International Water Forum "ECWATECH-2010", which took place in Moscow, at which one of the main considered problem was the removal from wastewater nitrogen compounds. During the forum, a competition of scientific research in the field of sanitation was held, where the then-graduate student NTUU KPI V.S.Zhukova won a prize.
Today Veronica S. Zhukova works at the Department of environmental biotechnology and bioenergy FBB as an assistant. She is the executing scientific researcher of the department. She is responsible for practice and employment in the department. Therefore, we wish young researcher continued success.
