On November, 16 the workers of radio, television and telecommunications celebrate their professional holiday. November 2013 occurred as the 20th anniversary of mobile communication in Ukraine, the 20th anniversary of the telecommunications company MTS (formerly UMS) and Kiev Telecentre on Dorogojichi. On the occasion of these events at the Institute of telecommunication systems, there were several interesting events.

First the staff and students of ESITS were congratulated by Telecommunications Franco-American company "ALCATEL-LUCENT". November 14, 2013 it was awarded nominal grants for the best students. During several years the company encourages students for academic success and victory at the Olympics. "ALCATEL-LUCENT" has its offices in more than 130 countries around the world, appeared on the Ukrainian market in 1992, and is working with ESITS since 2005. The company is considered a pioneer in the market for technology networks LTE (4G). During the meeting, the manager of the company "ALCATEL-LUCENT" Sales Support Dudchenko Andrew gave a presentation on "LTE. Architecture, difference from other technologies. Joint use of the network by several operators."

15 November 2013 ESITS delegation, led by a senior lecturer G.L.Avdeenko, attends a press conference dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Kiev Telecentre.

The press conference participants told about the drafting of the television center, its construction, moving from Khreshchatyk, shared interesting memories connected with these events. 24-story telecentre building has an area of 86 thousand m2. It employs 2.5 thousand employees, the preservation of the purity is a duty of 60 cleaners, fire safety provide 11 firefighters. First telecentre and TV Tower was located on Khreshchatyk, but the building was not enough. Gradually, with appearence of new technology it was decided to move to Dorohozhychi. Construction lasted for more than 20 years, and moving to a new place.

First broadcasting in the new television station was on December 30, 1993 at the ABS-1 (hardware-studio unit), which is equal to the area of the half of a football field, and height - 5-storey building. Now there are hardware-studio television complex with a vestibule, a concert hall for 450 seats, 8 television studios, 14 rooms for rehearsals, 17 video hardware complexes and 4 halls for movie. Telecentre can be called a real city, because it has everything: shops, a pharmacy, medical center, canteens, even the flowers you can buy without going outside.

Kiev TV Tower, was built in the 1973rd, is now 40 years old. It has a height of 380 m (the second highest in Europe after Berlin). Its originality lies in the fact that it has no screw and is the lightest in the world of structures of this type (3 times lighter than the Eiffel Tower, although at
60 m above). But unlike television center entrance is forbidden here.

And employees of the First National organized an exhibition "Tele HEIGHT" on the history of the construction of the telecentre. We all loved it! We are waiting for the next chance to visit Kiev Telecentre because to observe the process of the Ukrainian television inside is much more interesting than just watching TV.

November 18, 2013 for the 20th anniversary of mobile communication in the meeting room of the Academic Council by MTS together with NTUU"KPI" was organized a presentation of "maps the history of telecommunications." L.M.Kravchuk, the first President of Ukraine, told us the story of the first call from a mobile phone, which he did in 1993. Other guests shared historical facts and remembering events contributed to the introduction of new technologies in the field of telecommunications. Training of qualified specialists in this area was also an important aspect of the industry. Director of ESITS NASU academician M.Ilchenko noted that the Department of Telecommunications in the KPI was also created in 1993 and loudly celebrated its anniversary in May of 2013. He headed a working group of experts, which is working to create interactive maps the history of telecommunications, which show the chronology of the development of telecommunications worldwide.

There was also a quiz in which students ESITS and ISIS answered questions about the history of communication. For correct answers winners received gifts - maps in printed form. This project has already been launched online, and anyone who believes that an event should be on this map, it can be easily expanded.
