Shevchenkovo word and the thought that always attracts the attention of the general public, acquires a special significance during Shevchenko days that whole Ukraine celebrates. This year the Ukrainian and world community celebrates the 200th anniversary of the birth of Taras Shevchenko. A number of the commemoration of this significant event has already taken place in our university.
Department of the Ukrainian language, literature and culture of the Faculty of Linguistics in March traditionally honors the outstanding Ukrainian poet. A variety of measures have caused a sincere interest in a wide range of the university community. Among them is the round-table presentation "Shevchenko encyclopedia", which took place on March 19 with the participation of students of linguistics, publishing, printing institute, Faculty of Sociology and Law and teachers of Ukrainian language, literature and culture. The audience was presented to the four volumes already seen the light during 2012-2013. This unique scientific reference book will consist of six volumes. It is intended to comprehensively present the brilliant figure of Taras Shevchenko - the poet and artist, to highlight his outstanding role in the socio-cultural life of Ukraine, the value of its spiritual heritage in a global context. To participate in the presentation were invited representatives of the creative team of the Institute of Literature of Taras Shevchenko, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, who worked on drafting "Shevchenko encyclopedia" - O.I.Stuzhuk, PhD. Philology. researcher with the Department of Shevchenko and D.O.Esipenko, PhD. Philology. researcher with the Department of Shevchenko.
Round table presentation was opened by cand. Philology. Associate Professor, Department of the Ukrainian language, literature and culture S.P.Denisyuk. In his opening speach he noted the value of "Shevchenko encyclopedia", its importance for the Ukrainian culture, noted also the difficulties that always accompany such large-scale projects and require daily hard work and considerable efforts of scientists. FSC, associate professor of the Ukrainian language, literature and culture S.M.Krivenko made a report. It was devoted to clarify the features of literary encyclopedias, in particular such variety as personal literary encyclopedia, devoted entirely to the biography and work of one man - a poet, writer or a scientist. In her speech, "Shevchenko's Encyclopedia": the specificity of the scientific editor of the "O.I.Stuzhuk focused on issues of scientific apparatus of publishing, editorial preparation and specificity of editorial work, outlined the future prospects of working on an encyclopedia. D.O.Esipenko report "Vladimir Seminina - researcher shevchenkiany" expressed the view that "Shevchenko's Encyclopedia" is a fundamental contribution to the national literary criticism science, and contains information about the little known to the general public researcher and popularizer of creativity TG .Shevchenko in the United States Vladimir Seminina. Wide discussion was opened after the speeches. There was a lot of questions that showed a genuine interest in the works of Taras Shevchenko and presented edition. Guests were pleasantly surprised with the knowledge of students, their activity, interest in the humanitarian sphere. In his concluding remarks S.M.Krivenko thanked everyone for their participation in the round table and looked forward to deepening cooperation NTUU"KPI" with the Institute of Literature of Taras Shevchenko, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
