At our university scientific research is conducted on a wide range of themes and in different fields. Some of them are implemented and are economically effective and others have the potential of implementation. The group of innovators of the Department of Machines and Apparatus for Chemical and Oil Refining Production of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering in its innovative development proposes to influence on the phytogenous solution such as waste of economic activity with the help of physical methods in order to neutralize this waste and protect the environment.

In particular, the undergraduate Sergiy Yarotsky is working on his project “Neutralization of acid aqueous solutions according to the methods of discontinuous and impetuous input of energy”.  Suggested way is developed at the Institute of technical thermophysics of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.  It is based on use of physical impacts on the processable environment without use of chemical reagents by change of properties of aqueous solutions, in particular the value of a hydrogen indicator (рН).

Using such way of processing in a liquid flow by intensive impact on it there are electric bias, considerable pressure overfall, the cavitation phenomena etc.  Use of this method of neutralization in the industry will allow receiving the great number of advantages before the chemical neutralization. These advantages consist in the lack of reagents for neutralization and decrease of content of harmful substances in drains and, thus, will allow to reduce harmful impact on the environment.

For academic achievements, for social activism and successful scientific research S. Yarotsky is honoured with principal’s award. The student says: “I think that awarding of the scholarship is not only the result of my conscientious piece of work but also the result of work of teachers who help me to realize as a scientist. Taking into consideration the difficult situation in our country I’m grateful to management of the university and faculty for their support and help. I also want to thank Myhailo Zaharovych Zgurovsky for active activity in solving student’s problems.” Sergiy is eager to use student’s years as efficacious as possible and to develop as a personality. If he has spare time he plays basketball or draw. After the graduation he plans to continue academic career and to develop creatively.

Sergiy Yarotsky writes a master's thesis under the direction of senior research fellow of Institute of Engineering Thermophysics of National Academy of Ukraine, Candidate of Technical Sciences Bogdan Yaroslavovich Tselen who also was the student of Department of Machines and Apparatus for Chemical and Oil Refining Production (DMACORP).  In 2006 Bogdan Tselen finished NTUU “KPI” and gained the master’s diploma with honours.  Since 2011 he has been working as a senior teacher of DMACORP.

B.Ya.Tselen participated in creation of device of the increased productivity VG-15 for milk processing which was made at the enterprise “Poltavamash” LtD. This device passed commercial tests and is implemented in commercialization of production of drinking milk on LtD “Chernigiv Dairy Plant”.  In 2009 for a cycle of works “Research of hydrodynamic, heat-mass-exchange, chemical and biological processes in VG-type devices” he was awarded with the diploma of Presidium of NAS of Ukraine.  In 2010 he became the winner of competition on receiving a grant of National academy of Sciences of Ukraine for young scientists.

B.Ya.Tselen is the author of 32 publications, including 11 articles in specialized scientific magazines and 19 articles in collections of theses and materials of scientific conferences, holds two patents for utility model.  Now he explores the change of water properties and hydrologic systems which take place at their processing on technology of discontinuous and impetuous input of energy for the purpose of studying of the gained effects and search of the directions of application of the received results.

We will wish creative inspiration to young scientists and further success.
