Nine years ago, at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics was held the first training seminar on applied problems of Computer and Software Engineering ACSE (Applications of Computer and Software Engineering). The seminar became traditional and this year was held from 17 to 20 September. The Faculty of Applied Mathematics started this event for students and teachers of  not only our university, but other universities. In particular, this year the participants in ACSE'13 were not only from the  KPI but also were the students of the Kyiv National University Taras Shevchenko, National Aviation University, Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Donetsk National Technical University and Khmelnytsky National University. This year's event was held with the support of "IT Ukraine ".

After the official part was started the seminar entitled "Software with High Requirements for Reliability," conducted by the professor Christian Madrich of Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (Austria). Professor Madrich is the honorable guest of ACSE’13, because with his seminar on "Development of real-time systems," in 2004, began the story of ACSE.

This year the subject of the seminar was devoted to the new web- programming techniques, development of mobile software platform Android, and the creation of mathematical software for the financial market, as well as automated testing and software reliability. For four days at the seminar 12 experts from five organizations made a report, including companies Epam Systems, Luxoft and Miratech. As part of the cultural program there was a tour for visitors of our university to the State Polytechnic Museum at NTUU “KPI”.

During the closing ceremony ACSE’13 the seminar manager, deputy Dean of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics E.S. Sulema summed up this year's event: a training seminar attended 421 participants from 6 universities, "KPI" was presented to the students of 16 colleges and institutions. The most active students were of the 2nd and 3rd course - they were about a third of all participants. After that, the most active participants were presented with certificates of Carinthia University of Applied Sciences and IT companies.
