On June, 22 2013 the fourth Polish-Ukrainian intercollegiate football tournament "STUDENTEURO 2013" (hereinafter "STUDENTEURO 2013") starts in Krakow. The organisation stuff of the tournament are Academic Sports Association AZS in cooperation with the Foundation "Prospects" on the Polish side, and the Committee of Physical Education and Sports of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine on the Ukrainian side. Co-organizer is the Ukrainian-Polish Center of NTU "KPI".

A novelty of this year's "STUDENTEURO 2013" is women's tournament in which will participate teams from Jagiellonian University and the Academy of Physical Education (Katowice), National Technical University of Oil and Gas (Ivano-Frankivsk) and National Pedagogical Dragomanov University (Kyiv).

In the men's tournament will compete footballers from eight universities. Ukraine will be represented by teams from National Pedagogical Dragomanov University, National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute", Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics and National University of State Tax Service of Ukraine. Football teams from Jagiellonian University (Krakow), University of Silesia (Katowice), Jagiellonian University collegium Medium (Krakow) and the Academy of Mining and Metallurgy (Krakow) will compete to protect the honor of Polish universities.

The tournament calendar formed in such a way, that on June 22 in both finals - female and male - Ukrainian and Polish teams will meet.

Before the final games, on Friday June 21 at the Jagiellonian University with participation of it's Rector Prof. Wojciech Nowak traditional friendly Polish-Ukrainian meeting will take place.

The first tournament "STUDENTEURO" was held 10 September 2010 in Ukrainian cities, which were preparing to host "Euro 2012" - Lviv, Donetsk, Kharkiv and Kyiv. The Final game was held in the capital of Ukraine. National Pedagogical Dragomanov University (Kyiv) won the tournament.

"STUDENTEURO 2011" games took place in the Polish cities that hosted the "Euro 2012" - Gdansk, Poznan, Wroclaw. In the final match, which was held in Warsaw, the team from Adam Mickiewicz University won (Poznan, Poland).

"STUDENTEURO 2012" was held in Kyiv. National University of State Tax Service of Ukraine was the winner that year.

"For us this tournament is an important element in the program of development international contacts between Polish university athletes and universities of our East partner countries," - stresses the Chairman of The Academic Sports Association of Poland, Senator of the Republic of Poland professor Marek Rotski.

However, this tournament is aimed not only at promoting sports and healthy lifestyle among students in both countries, but also to promote joint research and educational achievements of the participating universities and networking between students.

"Such development of international contacts nicely fits into the program to promote information about Polish universities abroad. Please understand that Ukrainian is the largest group among foreign students in Poland. Play of Polish universities teams in the football tournament in Ukraine showed local students the other sports side of Polish universities. Ukrainian coevals saw with their own eyes how it is to be student in Poland," - says Waldemar Sivinskyy, the President of Educational Foundation "Prospects", which together with the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland is implementing the program «Study in Poland».

"STUDENTEURO" - is much more than just an annual universities football tournament. This is an event that has become a legend, and in which you necessarily have to participate. This event, in which social and academic function is as important as sports," - says Bartholomew Korpak, the Secretary General of Academic Sports Association AZS.
