On the 4th of April the inauguration of NTUU "KPI" Spartakiada took place at University Center of Physical Education and Sports. This year it is dedicated to the 115th anniversary of university foundation.
The ceremony started with the parade of participants – representatives of all faculties and institutes. They were greeted by the honourable guests - deputy of Ukraine D.Y.Andriyevskyy, deputy of the Kiev City Council M.Yu.Shkuro, Head of Family, Youth and Sports department of Solomenskiy district state administration in Kyiv I.V.Kustova, deputy of the first vice-rector of NTUU "KPI" I.O.Mikulonok, deputy of vice-rector on educational work of NTUU "KPI" R.I.Pashov, chairman of the NTUU "KPI" students trade union A.Yu. Havrushkevych, Dean of the Intercollegiate College of Medical Engineering V.B.Maksymenko.
NTUU "KPI" Rector thanks were given to the top ten instructors of the physical education and sport improvement department.
The World and European wrestling championships winner, IME student of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering Andrew Nikitchenko and the European Championship of sport orienteering winner, graduate student at NTUU "KPI" Elena Dotsenko were invited to rise the national flag of Ukraine .
Then demonstrations in various sports were held. The following sports were presented: sport aerobics, shaping, table tennis, tennis, athletic gymnastics, boxing, hiking, volleyball, basketball, football. About 500 participants took part in the presentations.
At the end the Ukrainian sport acrobatics team members, European champions in 2009 and 2011, world champions in 2010, international class masters of sport Inna Batuyeva (student of the Faculty of Bioengineering and Engineering) and Dennis Jasinski (student of National Pedagogical University n.a. Dragomanov) gave an exciting performance.
Spartakiada will run until May 2013.
