"Kyiv Polytechnic" has written many times about measures taken by administration for providing a comfortable education and student's work (as well as staff's work) during winter and autumn weather conditions. For making these measures more effective, it's important to establish well priorities and to identify systematic steps for reaching the target. It's all booked up at University's Energy Efficiency Program for 2019-2023 and the Energy Efficiency Action Plan, but as you know, the programs and plans themselves will not make warmer. Therefore, the preparation of the university for the new heating season begins the next day after the previous one. The first pro-rector of the University and Academician of NAS of Ukraine Yuriy Yakymenko reported about the results of such actions at the meeting of the Administrative Board of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute on 3 October.

The directions and volumes of work in the buildings containing these units and sources of funding were determined for each of the heads of faculties and institutes in the beginning of the summer. The work is carried out both at the expense of the general budget of the University, and at the expense and strength of the units. "In this way, a coherent workflow was constructed to determine what should be done first and later, and according to priorities, the amount of money needed for it. On the eve of the new academic year, August 29, we have already heard with you about the status "Yuriy Yakimenko reminded the participants of the meeting." And they agreed that in September we will continue to work in this direction, and in a month we will return to this issue again.

Therefore, on October 3, preliminary results of the preparation of the logistic base of the units for the winter were summarized. In total over 18 million hryvnias were allocated in the units during the preparation for the 2019/2020 academic year for the execution of major repair and rehabilitation works. As of August 25, 40% of the planned projects were completed at the faculties and institutes, and the rest of the works continued. And within the month of September 25, the picture changed and began to look almost exactly the opposite: 56% of the planned was fulfilled, and 44% in the work (see diagram).

"As a result, to date, we do not have any unit where the work on preparing the material and technical base for the activities in the autumn and winter period, or such works have not been performed," was performed, - Yuriy Yakimenko emphasized. The units themselves are the main actors in this process. Each dean now has an administrative assistant. These assistants meet for a fortnight on a specially created board under the direction of the Vice Chancellor for Administrative Work, where all problems arising in the course of the implementation of the plans are resolved in a working manner. Such a model has proven its worth and, in the opinion of the first provost, it should be retained in the future.
