On April 11th the delegation of the Chinese National Space Administration (CNSA) headed by its vice-administrator Tian Yulong visited Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. The delegation included CNSA responsible workers, accompanied by Zhang Jie its first secretary of Embassy of Ukraine to the People’s Republic of China in Ukraine.

The visitors were met by Mykhailo Zgurovsky, the rector of the university, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Sergiy Sydorenko, vice-rector for international relations, corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Yuriy Sydorenko, deputy of provost for Scientific Research, Andriy Shysholin the head of the Department of Foreign Economic Activity and others.

The participants of the meeting discussed the issues of deepening cooperation between Chinese and Ukrainian universities and experimental establishments in the aerospace industry and participation of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in them and also outlined further steps in this direction.

Mykhailo Zgurovsky told the guests about the Space Program of the University, its direction and implemented developments within its limits. In particular, about university’s nanosatellites; about work of university’s experts on creation of a space grouping of microsatellites for remote sounding of the Earth and more.

In his turn, Tian Yulong informed Ukrainian Scholars about the activities and priorities of CNSA. Also, about higher education institutions, which can become partners of Ukrainian universities, primarily of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, both in the work on scientific and technical projects, and in the training of engineers for the aerospace industry. So, four specialized Chinese universities, as well as 20 others, where corresponding departments are open, are potential partners of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.

Finally, the meeting participants agreed on the preparation and exchange of proposals on specific areas of cooperation and on further contacts.
