At the request of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany on April 24 Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was visited by the deputies of the Bundestag (the German parliament) from the Free Democratic Party Renata Alt and Frank Muller-Rosentrit. They were accompanied by a representative of the Policy Department of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Zhanna Agasiyeva.
The guests met the first pro-rector of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Yuriy Yakymenko, deputy pro-rector for International Relations Yevhen Polishchuk, director of the Mechanical Engineering Institute of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Mykola Bobyr and dean of the Joint Ukrainian-German Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (JUGFME) Oleg Levchenko.
The meeting participants discussed the development of modern education and science in Ukraine and cooperation of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute with universities of Federal Republic of Germany. In this context, the most attention was paid to the cooperation of the Kiev Polytechnic with the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, who is a partner of JUGFME.
