The research work “The design of optimal functioning of energy hubs in the intelligent systems of energy supply of Ukraine” has been finished (under the guidance of O. S. Yarmoliuk, the doctor of technical sciences, while V. P. Opryshko as an account man). It has been done for the grant from the President of Ukraine according to the grant proposal (Ф75/223-2018) of State Fund of Fundamental Researches.

The aim of the work was to analyze the process of creation, development and functioning of energy hubs as constituent components of energy supply intelligent systems according to the positions of the Smart Grid concept. The results of the work contribute to the improvement of security, reliability and efficiency of the process of energy complex supply. There is a prospect that the results gained will be useful for solvation of wide range of tasks related to the optimization of the structures and regimes of microsystems and energy hubs work. As well as for the definition of the most effective conditions for complex usage of renewable energy sources and their parallel work with energy systems in the process of liberalization of energy market.

According to the analysis conducted, the project presented the way how restructuring of the electric and thermal energy production, based on decentralized generating and accumulation with active involvement of renewable sources and active consumers as microsystems and energy hubs, enables the growth of effectiveness of energy usage.

As a result of the research, methodology and algorithms of optimal control of electric and thermal energy flow for energy hub of typical apartment complex are developed. On the basis of the method suggested, the task of optimizing the general cost of energy sources is formulated and solved. Including the demands of the consumers in terms of desired time of exploitation of electric equipment.
