September 27-29, 2018, our University hosted the XVII All-Ukrainian Scientific Conference “Recent issues of the history of science and technology”, which was devoted to the 120th anniversary of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, the 20th anniversary of the State Polytechnic Museum and the 120th anniversary of the birth of Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR V.V. Danylevskyi, a well-known Ukrainian scientist in the field of technology history. The conference was attended by about one hundred researchers from Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Dnipro, Shostka, Zhytomyr, Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyi, Pervomaysk, Nizhyn, Korosten.
Plenary session was opened by the chairman of the conference organizing committee, the president of the Association of Museums of technical profile, doctor of technical sciences, prof. Leonid Griffen. The conference was greeted by the vice-rector for the scientific work of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Myhailo Ilchenko. Participants of the conference worked in three sections: “Research on the development of science and education”, “Development of technology in the historical aspect”, “Contribution to the science and technology of prominent scientists and engineers”.
