On April 18, 2017, there was a meeting of teachers and students of the Department of Acoustics and Acoustoelectronics with the lecturer and staff member of the Acoustic Laboratory of the The University of Le Mans (France) Bruno Gazengel. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the possibility of further expansion of cooperation between our universities and departments within the European project Erasmus.
The meeting started with the introductory words of head of the department, Vitalii Didkovskyi, who briefly reminded the students of the 3-5th years of successful cooperation with The University of Le Mans during the current academic year and gave the guest a word.
Bruno Gazengel's speech consisted of two parts. In the first part, Bruno spoke about the The University of La Mans and requirements to students who want to study for a master's degree program. He also announced that the request of one of our masters is considered by The University of La Mans. It is likely that this Master will soon be joining Denys Volkov, who has been studying in France for almost a year and showing good results.
The second part of the speech was devoted to work of the acoustic laboratory at The University of La Mans. Several dozen researchers work in this well-equipped laboratory. The directions of research are impressive in their breadth: ultrasound technology, optoacoustics, thermoacoustics, the development and research of acoustic transducers, metrology, signal processing, music acoustics and architectural acoustics, waveguides and issues of wave propagation, etc.

The meeting with the French guest ended with a joint shoot and exchanging of useful information. Our students and teachers have gained useful information about the requirements for masters-acoustics at The University of Le Mans, have read the list of research areas of French colleagues in the field of acoustics and closely related disciplines. We hope that the opposite side has benefited from communication. See you again!
