At the Igor Sikorsky KPI sports complex basketball competitions completed on December 14 among male student teams of universities for the Student Trade Union Association of Kyiv.
The tournament has been held for 18 years in a row. In the 2017 season, 11 teams of leading universities of the capital attended it. 59 games were played during October-December. The Chief Justice I.G. Kalugin and the Chief Secretary М.М. Rachok organized the judge of the competitions at a high professional level.
For the 3rd place in the final were played by the teams of the Kiev National Trade and Economics University (rector A.A. Mazaraki, head coach – D.S. Yeltsov) and National Aviation University (acting rector – V.M. Isaenko, head coach of the team M.A. Velychenko).
The teams of the National Technical University of Ukraine «Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute» (Rector M.Z. Zgurovsky, coaches of the team G.O. Ustymenko and A.V. Kuzenkov) and the National University of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine (Rector Y.V. Imas, head coach of the team O.B. Kraynyuk) completed the main trophy of the tournament.
In the dynamic fight for the seventh consecutive year and the tenth time in the history of the tournament, with a score of 103: 68, the students celebrated the Kyiv Polytechnic.
It was a spectacular student basketball party. Fans fiercely supported their favorite teams. Guests of the final were entertained by teams of support of the teams KNTUU and Igor Sikorsky KPI. In the interval between the games, there was a competition of three-way throws. The winner is the team of the Kiev National Trade and Economics University Nikita Hanch. The best player in the final stage of the tournament was a student of the Igor Sikorsky KPI – Oleksiy Rushakov.
