In January, 2018 in the KPI was held the Christmas futsal tournament "Cup of Labor Union". This tournament is held more than ten years, and the list of participants remains almost invariable. As always, all elders of the Ukrainian futsal were brought together by the legendary organizer of a tournament the senior teacher of department of sports improvement Sergey Zhuravlev.
This year the six teams participated in the tournament. After the group competitions and semi-finals, which took place in the intense struggle, the team of veterans of our university "Polytechnic" and the team of TV channels "Football-1" and "Football-2" met in the first place in the fight.
At first, "Politekhnik" scored a goal, but TVs equalized the score with the help of penalties. The owners of the parquet did not agree to the draw, at first, have come forward, and a minute before the end of the match put a point and achieved a victory - 3: 1!
In the match for the third place the team of referees with the slight advantage overcame the national team of the Futsal Federation in Kyiv.
The special award of the best player of a tournament was received by Andrey Dubey (Futbol-1 and Futbol-2 TV channels), Igor Alekseenko ("Polytechnic") scored a lot of goals, Vyacheslav Skoropad is recognized as the best goalkeeper (the national team of arbitrators).
On January 4, the second futsal children's tournament was held on the initiative of the Department of Sport Improvement and the labor union committee of the KPI.
Five teams have participated in competitions: "Legion of XXI", "Legend", "Politekhnik", " Stolitsa " and "Lyceum".
In the fierce and intense struggle for the Cup of Christmas Tournament, the team "Stolitsa" (coach Andriy Kondratovich, teacher of the Department of Sport Improvement) won the first place. Second place was taken by the team "Lyceum" (coach Vyacheslav Krivenda, teacher of the Department of Sport Improvement). Further places were distributed as follows: the third place was taken by the team "Legend", the fourth - "Polytechnic", and the fifth place by the "Legion XXI".
All participants of the tournament received souvenirs, and winners and prize-winners - cups and medals. The parents of young footballers were very grateful to the organizers for the competitions.
The tournament gave a worthy start to children's sporting events at the Center for the Physical Education of our University. The organizer of the tournament, Sergei Zhuravlev, assured that the children's tournament on futsal will become tradition.
