The I stage of the All-Ukrainian student's Olympiad on discipline "Theoretical mechanics" among students of Igor Sikorsky KPI has taken place on February 28, 2017.
In the competition was attended by 36 students representing seven faculties and institutes: FAKS, MMI, IHF, FMF, FEA, FIOT, IEE.
Responsible for the Olympiads is a professor of theoretical mechanics Ph.D. I.V.Yanchevskyy.
The Olympiad task included six tasks of the main sections of theoretical mechanics: statics, kinematics, dynamics, analytical mechanics. The task on statics were estimated at only 20 points, on kinematics - at 40 points and on dynamics and analytical mechanics also at 40 points, generally the maximum point of the Olympiad is 100.
The winners are:
- 1st place - Igor Loboda, FMF, group OF-31, fourth year;
- 2nd place - Vadim Kryvonozhenkov, FAKS, group VL-41, the third year;
- 3rd place - Oles Dunay, FAKS, group VL-51, second course.

Generally, the I stage of the All-Ukrainian student's Olympiad on discipline "Theoretical mechanics" demonstrated a high enough level of professional training of future specialists in technical disciplines.
