Recently successes of publications on university students and mathematicians was the name of the fourth year students IASA Catherine Matviyiv. In particular, she successfully performed the first and second stages of the Ukrainian student competition in math this year and won the right to participate in international competitions.

International Competition IMC - International Mathematics Competition - well-known among our students. For many years they fought for victory there, and student Alexander Rybak has become a champion - won three consecutive Grand Prix. Traditionally team of KPI students were only boys. Over the past fifteen years, only two or three girls "dilute" the male staff.

This year the XXIII International Olympiad in mathematics held in Bulgaria in Blagoevgrad. Among the 320 best and highly ambitious young mathematicians Matviyiv participants was Kate who took third place finishing line in the middle of the standings. This is a very good result given the first experience in international students. So she acted alone, the university team did not take part at the competition.

Kate arrived from Lutsk to the Kiev Polytechnic. Mathematics, like other natural sciences, was interested in since high school. Parents are encouraged interest in magic numbers, talked about the curious case of the history of mathematics, sometimes offering unpretentious, seemingly puzzles with a unique solution. And schoolteacher supported capture the girl. Small victory over tricky puzzles inspired and motivated to solve more complex. So because of natural ability, persistence and helping others successfully Catherine studied, performed at competitions and student in the 11th grade represented Ukraine at the international.

Kiev Polytechnic girl chosen one of the best national universities, which gives a thorough theoretical knowledge and practical skills to work. It is interesting to learn. When school tasks relating number theory, geometry or logic, the current cover differential and integral calculus, analytical geometry, higher algebra elements and more. Catherine gladly visited mathematical circle, which is an enthusiast of the business, graduate Andrei Borisovich Ilyenkov. It also helps to prepare for the competition.

She wants to connect her future with IT technologies and soon plans to find a practical application of knowledge. A mathematician will be a good basis for this.

In IASA loves and cherishes their students, so it is hoped that all students plan finds a successful implementation.
