The publishing house Elsevier (the Netherlands) published a book the Dean of Faculty of Heat and Power Engineering of of National technical university of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv polytechnic institute” - a.p. of technical science Yevgen Pismenny "Handbook for Transversely Finned Tube Heat Exchanger Design”. The book is written in collaboration with authoritative experts of thermal power industry – professors of National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico (Mexico) ) George Polupan (KPI graduate), Ignacio Carvajal-Mariscal and Florencio Sanchez-Silva and Igor Pioro (KPI graduate) – Professor of University of Ontario Institute of Technology, Canada.

Elsevier is one of the four largest publishing houses in the world, which annually produces about a quarter of all articles issued in all the scientific journals of the world. It has filiations in the UK, the USA, Brazil and other countries. In 1880 it was founded by one of the owners of the database Scopus. The book is based on the results of the fundamental work of Faculty of Heat and Power Engineering, NTUU "KPI" in the field of heat transfer and aerodynamics of developed heat transfer surfaces. This guide represents a complete set of data necessary for calculation and design of the convective surfaces made of transversely finned tunnels operating in conditions both clean and dust-laden flows.

The detailed experimental data, correlations and design methods of heat exchangers of the finned pipes are represented. The book covers the three main types of finned tubes: round, square and spiral finning. The techniques of thermal, aerodynamic, hydraulic and strength calculations and the calculation of temperature regimes are given. The manual has a detailed reference material on the properties of the coolants, and detailed examples of calculations.

And again we can take pride. Our congratulations to professor Pismenny on his personal success – the publication of scientific work and NTUU "KPI" with the release on a new international level due to the high achievements and talent of its professionals.

We wish you new creative successes!
