There are people who are seemed to be invisible in everyday life. But their creativity is rich and diverse, a flight of fancy and incredible performance - amazing. Only the inner circle and colleagues know how many time and efforts is required to do their work. Today's story is about one of these creators.

Alexander E. Kolosov, Ph.D., senior researcher, for 28 years is working fruitfully at the department of chemical, polymer and silicate engineering FCE. In February by the decision of the Academic Council of the University he was awarded the honorary title "Honored inventor of the NTUU " KPI "(diploma №4).

His way of inventor he started in 1980, when he worked as assistant chief of the patent department of the Kiev Institute of Postgraduate Medical Health of Ukraine. Gradually gaining practical experience for 2 years directly gave more than 35 applications for certificates of authorship of the USSR in the field of medicine, which then successfully passed the qualifying examination and which have been issued documents of title.

In 1980-1982 he. A.E.Kolosov attended evening classes at the Kiev Institute of Public patenting All-Union Society of Inventors and Innovators (VOIR), with honors defended his thesis and was qualified as "patent engineer VOIR ". In 1983 he graduated with honors from the evening of Mechanics and Energy Department KPI in "Chemical Engineering and Apparatus." In the course of further work at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering (now - FCE) he continued to improve his skills and work as a scientist and inventor.

In 1990 he successfully defended his PhD thesis on the optimization of process parameters of "wet" winding polymeric fiber composites and its ultrasonic intensification. Now he is finishing work on his doctoral dissertation.

Personal active of A.E.Kolosov consists of more than 270 scientific papers, including more than 70 copyright certificates of the USSR, Ukraine patents for inventions and utility models, 9 books, three of which are written solely dedicated features and patenting of complex technical systems, as well as the design and registration of non-traditional object of intellectual property rights (know-how).

Results of his inventions are used in particular in the manufacture of structural elements composite polymeric material (carbon fiber shell main fairing launch vehicle fairing launch vehicle stages and engines integrated aircraft carbon fiber panels, etc.). These developments have been implemented in 1986-1990 at the basic aerospace enterprises of the former USSR - Union Central Research Institute of Materials Science (the city Kaliningrad, Moscow Region) and impregnating-drying equipment Dnepropetrovsk Research Institute of Machine Building Technology - an umbrella organization for the integrated production technology ensuring rocket and space technology and products of the national economic purposes, includes the jurisdiction of the National Space Agency of Ukraine.

On the basis of the application of ultrasound (US) and chemical modification A.E.Kolosov developed and patented new ways of producing high thermal couplings. They are characterized by high strength in the glassy state, while maintaining the operational quantities tensile elongation, ie, have an improved combination of strength and elastic properties, and glass transition temperature in the range of 70-80 ° C.

A.E.Kolosov also developed efficient technology ultrasonic activation of the surface of polyethylene pipes and joints of polyethylene pipelines thermal couplings using banding with glass tape. The above results of development are implemented in 2001-2002 by Gas supplier OAO "Donetskoblgaz", JSC "Rivnegaz" at the Feodosiya Enterprise of petroleum products.

The results of implementation of the developed A.E.Kolosov technology in the manufacture of electrical insulating fiberglass brand STEF on state-owned factories powder metallurgy (city Brovary, Kyiv region), the All-Russian Research Institute of foil dielectric ( Moscow), "Research and Technology Center" ATOLL "(m. Kiev) showed that these means contribute to obtaining a constant predetermined value of the content of the binder polymer in the impregnated fibrous fillers at varying speed pulling it in an impregnating bath.

Cumulative actual and expected economic impact of A.E. Kolosov invention is amounted to more than 2,5 million rubles.

In the second half of the 1990s A.E.Kolosov successfully tried his hand as a journalist. He has published in the central economic publications more than 60 articles on the development of public investment policies, as part of continuing research, which was conducted in 1995-1996 while studying at the Ukrainian Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine at the Faculty of Economics and Finance (after its completion he was qualified as a Master of Public Administration).

Today O.E.Kolosov spends much organizational work relating to the state budget theme FCE, and prepares documents for attestation of scientific workers FCE secretary certifying commission of the faculty. He is also a member of the advisory council for educational publications NTUU "KPI" on the FCE. A.E.Kolosov is highly qualified specialists in the field of intellectual property rights (a diploma with honors), owns the methodology of the evaluation (is the State Property Fund of Ukraine testimony as an expert in property valuation, property rights and business in the territory of Ukraine), as well as patent attorney of Ukraine (registration number 269). By the way, now among the many thousands of scientific and pedagogical workers NTUU"KPI" there is only two patent attorneys of Ukraine (A.E.Kolosov and D.E.Benatov).

The professional interests O.E.Kolosova in the sphere of intellectual property rights are extremely broad - it's inventions, utility models, trade marks for goods and services, industrial designs, know-how, copyrights, legal services and the like. During his time as a representative in the field of intellectual property for 2000-2008, A.E.Kolosov designed to order and the personal initiative documents of title for more than 160 objects of industrial property and copyright protected by patents of Ukraine for inventions, utility models and industrial designs, as well as numerous know-how and copyright objects.

Achieved by A.E.Kolosov results are quite logical. Indeed, in NTUU "KPI" scientists and creative youth are attracted to the innovation process, especially in the mainstream of the modern concept of a research university. It has created a favorable climate for creative growth and produce significant scientific and practical results. Constant creative collaboration with other scientists and inventors University - honored inventor of Ukraine prof. Yu.M.Kuznetsov and PhD. M.S.Trivaylo and honored inventor University PhD. I.O.Mikulonok and PhD. A.K.Skuratovsky inspires A.E.Kolosov, on their example, to further improve and achieve new heights in research and innovation activities.

Publicizing and spreading the A.E.Kolosov approaches and their implementation at the University in the performance of research and work on the order will enhance the image of NTUU "KPI" in Kiev and Ukraine, will increase the level of commercialization and diversification of services in the field of intellectual property rights that may be granted university structure.
