Rector of NTUU “KPI”, academician of Ukrainian NAS, Mykhailo Zgurovskyi had a meeting with the director of Representative Office of Polish Academy of Sciences in Kyiv, professor Henrik Sobchuk in March, 10.
Pro-rector of university for international relations, correspondent member of Ukrainian NAS Sergii Sydorenko, pro-rector deputy – head of department for international projects, professor Sergii Shukaiev, manager of international divisions sector, Yevgenii Ohorodnyk, deputy manager of Ukrainian and Polish center of NTUU “KPI”, Anna Bidniuk and others.
Representation of Polish Academy operates in Kyiv since August 2013. Since the first days of its activity it has been cooperating with KPI. Since the very beginning, the manager of Representation, professor Sobchuk was involved into the series of university projects that rose to international fame with the Polish financial support. First of all this support consists in the International conference “Pure water. Fundamental, applied and industrial aspects”, that will be hold this year for the 4th time and conventional International scientific and practical conference “Renewable power industry and energy efficiency in 21st century” etc. With the assistance of Polish Academy in 2014 there was published a book about famous graduate of KPI of 1906 written by famous physicist and chemist, professor Wojciech Swietoslawski “Wojciech Swietoslawski – a person who brings Ukraine and Poland together”. Moreover, without assistance from Poland there would be no a Polish scientist and public official monument at the territory of KPI.
Mykhailo Zgurovskyi expressed his gratitude for the attention to KPI, great support in establishing cooperation between Polish colleagues and realization of all projects necessary for both countries.
The issue of cooperation with Polish Academy with the assistance of its Kyiv Representation in 2016 was under discussion at the meeting. In these terms there was opportunity of subject development of scientific and practical forums hold with the participation of Kyiv polytechnics. In particular, professor Sobchuk suggested considering the possibility of conference on different aspects of historical building renovations with the assistance of Ukrainian and Polish center of NTUU “KPI”. Besides, the issues of scientists and interested practicians – representatives of industry and business involvement into the work in terms of conference for water purification and water treatment were discussed. Among other cooperation lines there is a possibility of Kyiv polytechnics’ participations in the program of getting PhD degree in Poland and some other projects. The participants of meeting agreed also on the working meeting of executives of Polish Academy of Sciences with scientists of KPI and representatives of productive economy of Ukraine. Another issues for discussion was the extension from Polish side the project of regional and sub regional cooperation with other states in scientific and technical field and new opportunities for Ukrainian scientists.
In the end, owing to the great potential and prospects of cooperation development in different lines, the participants agreed on regular meetings.
