December 5, 2014, the seventh interuniversity scientific seminar "Actual problems of teaching the history of Ukraine and the history of Ukrainian culture in higher education" was held in the NTUU “KPI”. The seminar was attended by leading scientists of the Institute of History of Ukraine, as well as representatives of departments humanitarian profile of Kyiv and many other universities of the country.

The vice-rector for educational work prof. P.O.Kyrychok welcomed the participants. The director of the Institute innovative technologies and content of education MES, head of the Ukrainian historiography of the Institute of History of Ukraine, Corresponding Member NAPS, Doctor of History, prof. O.A.Udod told about the history as the art of the memory and its role in consolidation of the society. The audience has been interested in the report of the Director of the Institute of World History NAS, Doctor of History, prof. A.I.Kudryachenko about the significance of the new paradigm of research in the field of world history for the Ukrainian historical science.

Several presentations at the conference actually gave an answer to an important question for teachers: how to apply the prospective approach to the study and teaching of the backbones of the country's history. Of particular interest in this context there have been reports of the leading scientists of the Institute of History of Ukraine - Doctor of History, L.D.Yakubova about the consequences of the Soviet national policy and its impact on the Ukrainian nation in the context of the analysis of processes in the Donbass and Doctor of History L.V.Grinevich of Soviet policy of creating hunger 1932 - 1933 in Ukraine. Senior Researcher, Ph.D. T.V.Pastushenko told about the events of the Revolution of Merits and war in the east of Ukraine as a challenge to national research the history of the Second World War. The known scientist, Doctor of History, prof. S.V.Kulchitsky presented his positions on social and political events in Ukraine the end of 2013 - 2014 pp.

How to apply the principles of an open approach to the study and teaching of the history of Ukraine related to national and international relations was showed participants the head of the Department of History NTUU "KPI" Doctor of History S.O. Kostyleva. The rapporteur called ignoring the role of national minorities in the creation of modern Ukrainian state as an “Achilles heel”. She urged his colleagues to give more attention to the potential political and multicultural vision of Ukrainian history.

Separately there were discussed features and problems of teaching in higher education humanities and preparation of textbooks. Especially interesting in this regard have been reports of the associate professor of history and theory DVNZ "National Mining University", Ph.D. P.O.Chornobaev and associate professor of Ukrainian Studies, Documentation and information activities of the Ukrainian Academy of printing (Lviv) candidate of philological sciences, Ya.Ya.Chornenky.

Pleasant event was the donation NTUU "KPI" to workshop participants - representatives of the Institute of History of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Academy of printing - new scientific and educational publications.

Many participants were concerned about the future of the humanities (history) disciplines in higher education in the context of the implementation of the Law of Ukraine "On Education" from July 1, 2014 and the abolition of MES order number 642 dated July 9, 2009, "On the organization of the study of the humanities on the free choice of the student." The participants pressed to include in present resolution a proposal to hold a seminar on the basis of NTUU “KPI "in 2015 with the participation of MES to discuss problematic issues in the teaching of the humanities (history) disciplines in higher technical school.
