January 30, the scientific seminar "System Research in Earth sciences, economy and society 2015" was held at National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute".
The seminar was organized by NTUU "KPI" and the Institute for Applied Systems Analysis of NAS of Ukraine and Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
Before the opening of the seminar, participants had an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the exhibition of scientific publications in the field of computer science and systems research.
Day of the seminar coincided with the 65th anniversary of the rector of KPI, Director of IASA NAS of Ukraine academician Michael Zgurovsky. Therefore, this scientific meeting was for the participants also the opportunity to personally congratulate him. The first who congratulated him was the Director of the Institute of Cybernetics of V.M. Glushkov National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Academician-Secretary of the Department of Informatics of the NAS of Ukraine Ivan Sergienko. He said: "Here almost the entire Department of Informatics of our Academy is present. We all are happy to congratulate Michael Zakharovich with 65th birthday anniversary and wish him good health and success of his scientific school, National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" and the Institute for Applied Systems Analysis. "
Michael Zgurovsky made a report on "The participation of the Institute for Applied Systems Analysis MES and NAS of Ukraine, World Data Center" Geoinformatics and Sustainable Development "in solving urgent problems of the state and international cooperation in a system research." A thorough analysis of the activities and achievements of scientists who are now leading the way in the field of System Studies in Ukraine, and the significance of their research to practice were given in this report.
Other participants in the seminar told about the details and results of these studies. Their reports covered a wide range of issues - from problems of systemic strategy guaranteed safety of complex systems, algorithms system data harmonization of different nature, methods for measuring the global threat of proliferation of weapons, assessment of environmental sustainability and safety in the regions and industrial systems for the use of geographic information technologies for strategic planning of sustainable community development and the like. Therefore, considering their relevance, workshop materials can be used in the development of management decisions in many areas of economic and social development of the country and its regions.
