The month of March is magic for many reasons: it begins the calendar spring equalizing night and day, and his 8th day is dedicated to all the beautiful women. To write about a Woman – there is no special reason to write about the Academic – it should be aware of her scientific achievements.
Oksana Zorenko is a charming woman, a teacher and scholar of Publishing and Printing Institute NTUU "KPI". On the basis of her academic achievements she was awarded the university competition "young teacher-researcher - 2008". In 1999, Oksana graduated IPP on a specialty "Publishing and printing business", in 2004 she defended her thesis. Today she is the Associate Professor of Technology of printing production IPP.
- Oksana, how the fate connected you with the Kiev Polytechnic?
- At the time of my enrollement into the KPI, namely such it was then called - it was one of the most powerful, the most famous and popular universities (it remains so to this day), which has a solid technical education. I attended general preparatory courses KPI. And when it came time to choose a faculty curator of our group proposed two options: instrumentation and printing. Without a doubt, I chose the latter, because the majority of free time from school days I spent reading fiction, non-fiction, and therefore wanted to know the ordinances of its production. And over time, I have convinced that printers by making a variety of print products, introduce to advanced scientific achievements and are the highly qualified specialists.
- What attracts you to teaching and research activities?
- The modern teacher must follow the global trends of technological development of the industry, and for generating ideas, developing instructional materials must constantly improve his professional, scientific and methodological level, develop new methods and tools for learning, take part in various scientific conferences, seminars, exhibitions to conduct research in the field, and as the main result of this - to publish educational literature.
- What are now your achievements and accomplishments?
- I have 60 scientific and methodical works. After defending my candidate’s dissertation it was published 25 scientific and methodical works used in the learning process. Among these there are 3 guidelines, one textbook stamped MES, 7 patents, one monograph. I participated in the implementation of the state budget works in 2003-2005 "Creating a new treatment technology solutions for high-quality multi-color reproduction" and in 2006-2008 "Development and research of compositional UV varnish coating process optimization of printed materials on the wet."
- I know you as one of the organizers of the International Scientific Conference of students and graduate students "Typography young."
- Yes, I am directly involved in the organization and carrying out of scientific conferences of students and graduate students "Typography young" (2001-2009). I am also involved in the preparation of materials for these conferences and the collection of scientific papers "Technology and equipment for printing" in the printing and publication of the work.
Besides, I am the Technical Secretary of the collection of scientific papers IPP NTUU "KPI" "Technology and Equipment of printing", as well as scientific secretary of the collection of abstracts of the International Scientific Conference of students and graduate students "Typography young."
I participated and made presentations at many international scientific conferences, scientific and practical seminars "Problems of modern printing" (Omsk, 2002), "Computer technology of printing: algorithms, the signals of the system - Drukotehn-2002" (Lviv , UAD, 2002), conferences devoted to the 50th anniversary of IPP NTUU "KPI" (2004), the 75th anniversary of the Moscow state University of Printing (2005.). Last year, I participated in the International Conference of educational institutions "International circle printing of educational institutions" (Warsaw, Poland).
- I am sure that you are constantly improving your academic and professional level. Is not it?
- Of course, because without this the development of scientific and researcher is simply impossible. In 2005, I had an internship in the leading universities of the printing industry and enterprises for the production of printing equipment in Germany, organized by the training center for printing (Chemnitz, Germany), and the company "Print Promotion" (Frankfurt, Germany) .
In the same year, I head the course of lectures organized by Print Media Academy Heidelberg (Germany), aimed at improving the training of teachers specialized printing establishments of Ukraine.
In 2008 I took a refresher course in NTUU "KPI" (course "Remote Testing").
- How do you implement your research and development in teaching?
- Experience of my teaching activities in IPP NTUU "KPI" is still small - only 6 years.
However, the main lecture courses: "Technology publishing and printing industry. Printing Processes "; "Managing the circulation resistance"; "Special sections of the printing technology. Digital printing technology, "which I prepared and teach, contain laboratory classes with elements of the study of contemporary problems of offset printing, the comparison parameters. To consolidate the theoretical knowledge of students I make a practical training in industries of industrial enterprises and visit thematic seminars specialized exhibitions. I supervise implementation of student, undergraduate, diploma and master's works, in which separate lines of research offset contact are developing.
I talked with Oksana in February. Today it is March. Until now there is snow. However, it does not spoil the the spring mood. On the pages of our newspaper I like to congratulate Oksana Vladimirovna Zorenko on occasion of March 8. Let her career will be laying spring gardens under the bright blue sky.
