A round table on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the outstanding designer of space engineering Chelomey Volodymyr Mykolaevych (30.06.1914 - 12.08.1984) was held at NTUU"KPI".

General Designer of space engineering, AS of the USSR academic, Hero of Socialist Labor, laureate of Lenin Prize and three times winner of the State award of the USSR , member of the International Academy of Astronautics, Professor of Moscow State Technical University of Bauman, V.M.Chelomey studied in the aviation department of the Kiev Polytechnic Institute (1932) and at the Kiev Institute of Aviation, opened in 1933 on the basis of the faculty. It was during his studies, he finally formed as a person, engineer and scientist. He created a pulsating air-rocket engine (ramjet), which was mounted on a number of aircraft. As chief designer of OKB-52 V.Chelomey developed naval cruise missile with folding wings that allowed it to put in small containers, including those in submarines.
