The XV International Science and Technology Conference "System Analysis and Information Technologies" (SAIT 2013) opened in the NTUU "KPI" on 28 May. Among the participants there are representatives of 15 countries: Azerbaijan, Belarus, China, Ecuador, Estonia, Georgia, Germany, Japan, Moldova, Poland, Russia, Sweden, the UK, Ukraine, and the USA. 525 researchers have registered to participate in the conference; they have submitted 327 reports.

The SAIT 2013 conference has been organised by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute", the Institute of Applied System Analysis, the UNESCO Chair in Higher Technical Education, Applied System Analysis and Informatics at the National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" and the IASA, Oles Honchar Dnipropetrovsk National University, Scientific Association of Students and Postgraduates of the NTUU "KPI" and the IASA, the Student Council of the NTUU "KPI" and the Student Council of the IASA. The conference began with the plenary meeting, which was opened by Mykhailo Zghurovskyi, Rector of the NTUU "KPI", Director of the Educational-Scientific Complex "Institute of Applied System Analysis", Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, professor Nataliia Pankratova, Deputy Director of Scientific Work of the ESC "IASA", and Ivan Serhiienko, Director of V. M. Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. "The International Science and Technology Conference for System Analysis and Information Technologies (SAIT) has over time become one of the most authoritative forums for discussing current problems of system analysis and information technologies. It brings together representatives of different branches of science: mathematicians, physicists, economists, ecologists, programmers, IT specialists and many other, because the main aim of system research is achieving new results and employing them for solving practical tasks through uniting various scientific fields," claimed Mykhailo Zghurovskyi in his introductory speech. "In this case, the emphasis is made on using powerful computing systems, which are suitable for solving supercomplex tasks." From 1999 to 2005 the SAIT conference used to be held on the basis of the Educational-Scientific Complex "Institute of Applied System Analysis" of the National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (IASA) predominantly for students, postgraduates and young scientists. The decision about changing the status of the conference and inviting a wider scientific circle to participate in discussing current interdisciplinary problems was made in 2005. The participants of the conference will be working at four sections: "System Analysis of Complex Systems of Different Types", "Intelligent Decision-Making Systems", "Highly Productive Computation and Development of Microsystems" and "Progressive Information Technologies". "The conference carries out an important task in that it offers the opportunity to develop new concepts, approaches and methods and, eventually, to solve the important tasks with which the life itself presents us," remarked Nataliia Pankratova during the opening panel.

The SAIT 2013 conference is held with the support of "EPAM Systems", "Yandex", "Etalon" and other companies. The conference will continue its work until 31 May.
