This year on April 28, 150 years passed since the birth of the prominent Ukrainian scientist, professor at the University of Warsaw, dean of the mechanical faculty of the Warsaw Polytechnic Institute, Corresponding Member of the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences Georgiy Feodosiyovych Voronyi (1868-1908). He is one of the founders of a new section of mathematics – the geometry of numbers, and his work is widely used in modern research.

On April 25, at the general meeting of the Department of Mathematics, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, a report was received by the doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor, dean of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of the Dragomanov National Pedagogical University, acting Head of the Department of Dynamic Systems and Fractal Analysis of the Institute of Mathematics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Mykola Pratsyovytyi “Geometric Mosaic of a Great Ukrainian” and discussion of pages of life and scientific heritage of mathematics, as well as its influence on world science.

Today the manuscripts of G. Voronyi, and several notebooks of his mathematical journal are kept at the Institute of Manuscripts of the Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine.
