Language is the extremely old phenomenon. There isn’t the human without language. The primary function of language is to be a mean of communication, storage and transfer of knowledge. That explains the interest in language that people always showed and show. Any society can’t exist without language no matter on which level. This applies to all people, of all backgrounds and each individual. The fate of each ethnic group organically intertwined with the fate of his speech.

The modern Ukrainian language is one of the most important forms of consciousness of people. One of the highest expressions of self-affirmation of the nation is the state language status which provides its legislative function in any and all areas of public life.

The formation of the national elite in science, technology, education, medicine, culture and public administration led to the emergence of new words, neologisms. These are the words with which vocabulary is updated according to changing needs of society. The emergence of new first words usually causes some resistance of society: it does not take every new word into language. Because the emergence of a new word is the first departure from the conventional usage of rules, which needs some time to get used to.

As it’s known, the press is designed to respond to every important fact for every social phenomenon or event and form the new name to a whole new life. That is why the major part of neologisms appears in newspapers, and from there they penetrate into other areas of communication. Generally, the new words that have become the part of the vocabulary of the national language have the tendency to quickly become inconspicuous as neologisms. We start to distinguish them not like all other words for the degree of innovation but for the value and place of use.

Recently, the number of new words formed by the reduction (abbreviations) is growing up. This method of word formation is activated because it allows the transfer of the most difficult concepts in shorter cuts. Abbreviations are widely used in everyday speech style, as well as in the style of production and research. Many of them have become very common and have entered to people’s vocabulary as full lexical items. They are constantly used in different styles of written language. However, the pronunciation of words is sometimes characterized by multi-variant, and in some cases inconsistent.
