One of the largest residential areas Kyiv is Vyhurivshchyna-Troieshchyna (in everyday communication of Kyiv residents it is simply Troyeshchyna) with the area of three and a half thousand hectares and nearly half a million people. Buildings array began in 1981, and the settlement - in 1983

After the Chornobyl disaster in 1986 there were many rooms for resettlers of thirty-kilometer exclusion zone, especially the residents of Prypiat. Today it is home to nearly eighteen thousand victims of the Chornobyl disaster.

It is not surprising that this array in 2009 was chosen to create a memorial complex "To Heroes of Chornobyl" as a reminder of the tragedy that occurred on the night of April 26, 1986.

Then, step by step near the Desnianskyi park between the streets of Honore de Balzac and architect Nikolaev began work on the creation of the Memorial.

Next, in 2010, the Wall of Memory was erected, on which 48 granite slabs depicting the inhabitants abandoned their settlements of Ukraine, Belarus and Russia were installed. Velyki Klishchi, Buriakivka, Derkachi, Zalissia, Leliv, Nova Yelnia, Prypiat, Tovstyi Lis, Shelukhivka, Dovliady, Samotevychi, Ushakov, Savytskyi Loh… Total 458 cities, towns and villages were deserted forever.

On April 26, 2013, there was the opening of the sculptural element "Earth", made in the form of radiation danger sign in front of the central sculpture of the complex depicting Prometheus chained to the rock with fire in his arms, stolen for people from sacred Mount Olympus.

And on December 14 of the same year - the Day of honoring liquidators of the Chornobyl accident – there was opened another architectural element of memorial complex - Rotonda "Pantheon of memory."

Rotonda "Pantheon of memory" is the only memorial in Ukraine, which represents a union in the aftermath of the Chornobyl accident of all former Soviet republics. This idea lies in the architectural and artistic content of Rotonda.

Along the perimeter of the circle 15 columns are placed that represent the state - the former Soviet Union, that participated in the aftermath of the Chornobyl accident. In the center of the composition as a symbol of remembrance of the liquidators there is a sculpture of the Holy Virgin – the patroness of Ukrainian people. At the top of each column are attached cast bronze emblems of states - former Soviet republics, and at the arched frieze columns there are gold letters of the text of the anthem of Chornobyl: "Brothers! We will overcome death a hundred times, win the pain and separation, give me your hand, Chornobyl brother, let our hands be hot. We flow here again as the rivers flock to the sea, all of this is us, do you hear, the Lord, we are the ones whose land was saved that April. Despite the pain will children grow - our joy through the taste of wormwood. God right! Forgive us, forgive! And save, if you can save. We will tempt the others’ others. "

... Today, after three decades of the biggest man-made disaster of mankind has grown a generation whose members were not even born during those terrible days. But they and their children and grandchildren should not forget those who defended the world.
