Educational and methodological documentation in the specialty / specialization (excluding standards of higher education) is developed by appropriate graduating department. Responsibility for quality and completeness of educational documentation in the specialty / specialization is rested on managing of graduating department.

Educational and methodological documentation in educational disciplines is developed by departments which perform the teaching of such subjects. Responsibility for the developing of educational and methodological documentation in the specialty / specialization is rested on managing of graduating department.

To the beginning of new studying year all departments should submit in electronic form the whole list of students and appropriate package of educational and methodological documentation to the dean's office and graduating departments.

Educational and methodological documentation on educational disciplines is kept in department’s offices which provide discipline’s teaching.

The main documents which concretize the educational contents are educational/working plans and also programs for educational disciplines and working CM programs. Programs for educational disciplines are developed according to educational programs. Programs for educational disciplines which are offered to students at option should be confirmed two month before the beginning of a new academic year at the latest. Programs for educational disciplines are developed by leading academic staffs of specialized university departments; responsibility for development is rested on managing department.

Requirements on program structure and design of educational disciplines and credit models’ working programs are determined in “Methodological recommendations for creating the educational programs and working programs of credit modules”.

Program of educational disciplines includes:

  • Goal of teaching the educational discipline in the form of ability system (competences), typical tasks and its place in the system of specialist training (according to the educational program);
  • The problem of discipline in the form of expected learning outcomes - knowledge and skills (indicating the level of formation);
  • The amount (learning time for its assimilation) and type of semester control;
  • Presentation of structured content of the course;
  • Classes of recommended practical subjects (seminars), layout of laboratory works (computer practice) and individual tasks;
  • Teaching and other didactic materials.

Programs of academic disciplines are developed in accordance with the relevant educational programs. To ensure the integrity of educational material, providing professional orientation training content, prevent possible duplication, consideration of interdisciplinary connections educational programs are considered methodical commission of the institution / faculty, for professions which developed a program appropriate discipline. After program adoption by commission of the institution / faculty it will be adopted by director/dean of the institution / faculty.

University programs of academic disciplines for general (invariant to the specialities) training which assist in formation the general (social and personal) competences and general training academic disciplines according to the training programs on the second (master’s) and the first academic levels of high education; they are considered by the methodical council of the university and approved by the First Vice-Rector .

Working program of the credit module is the main methodological document which indicates goal and purpose, layout and technology of education with CM according to modes of study for every academic year. CM working program creates on base the program on relevant academic discipline and working plan for certain mode of study.

Working Educational Plan provides frames for technology training on each CM by determining the distribution of teaching time for occupations and CPC control measures and individual semester assignments and more.

The work program includes requirements for learning outcomes in a specifically defined purpose and tasks of mastering the CM. The purpose is determined through abilities (competencies), which student should demonstrate after mastering the CM. Task of the credit module is given through the knowledge and skills systems with a certain level of development. The work program includes presentation of CM content to the distribution of educational material to individual classes, individual assignments, independent work; determine the form and means of the current and final control; information and methodological support etc.

In CM working program could be changed the order and level of studying details in separate units, topics and questions depending on the particular specialty, form of training and so on.

The component of working programs is a rating evaluating system with learning outcomes and diagnostic tools of mastering educational material, forming student’ knowledge and skills for the planned control measures and semester control.

The CM annual work programs are discussed at meetings of departments. If it is necessary institutes/departments – customers can give a requirement on agreement the working programs. All CM working programs which according to working and educational plans should be taught in the next academic year must be approved two month before the beginning of a new academic year at the latest. Working programs are approved by director of the institute/dean of the faculty of the department which has invented the working program.

Working plans and educational discipline programs, other educational documents of departments are the intellectual property of the University and can be used by other Universities only with NTUU “KPI” licence.
