The dean of Mechanical Engineering faculty of University named after Otto von Guericke in Magdeburg, Carl Heinrich Grothe, one of the honorable scientists became member of the honorable Doctors of faculties and institutes of NTUU “KPI”.
The director of MEI, correspondent member of Ukrainian NAS Mykola Bobyr and his deputy for research and methodology Olexandr Ohrimenko gave the following awards: diploma, the long robe, bonnet, and honorable Doctor of Mechanical Engineering Institute of NTUU “KPI” badge to Carl Heinrich Grothe in ceremonial meeting of Academic Board of MEI that was hold in the hall of Academic Board in November, 10.
The decision on the honorary degree of Doctor of Mechanical and Engineering Institute of NTUU “KPI” given to the dean of Mechanical and Engineering faculty of University named after Otto von Guericke in Magdeburg was approved in the meeting of Academic Board of MEI in September, 28, this year.
Academician of NAS of Ukraine, rector of university Mychailo Zgurovskyi opened the session. He stressed that the honorary title was given to the professor, doctor and engineer for the great contribution in mechanics, great research and methodology practices on development of common of Mechanical Engineering faculty of NTUU “KPI” and University named after Otto von Guericke in Magdeburg (Germany republic) for the last ten years as well as for promoting international authority of our university.
Professor Carl Heinrich Grothe is the graduate of Technical University in Berlin. From year 1979 till 1984 he was a staff member of Institute for machine designing of the university. After his Doctor Dissertation defense he worked in his native university and then was invited by professor of California University in Long Beach city (USA) and professor of California Technological University of Pasadena city. However, he dedicated the most of his life to the work in University named after Otto von Guericke in Magdeburg, where he held positions of professor of technology and designing, pro-rector for educational work and since April 2005 and till present – deans’ position of Mechanical Engineering faculty and professor of technology and designing. He takes active part in scientific and organizational work: since 1997 he heads the Scientific Board of experimental factory in Magdeburg city, since 2009 is a responsible editor of “Reference book on mechanical engineering” of scientific publishing house “Springer” , has 271 publications with scientific and technical specialization. Has honorary award “Honorary ring of Community of German engineers”.
