The manager of NCP “Information and communication technologies” Sergii Shukaev spoke on the EU “HORIZON 2020” program and new opportunities that national scientists and representatives of small and medium business received when Ukraine became an associate member of EU. In his words, one of the features of “HORIZON 2020” is the fact that working programs are being developed each two years since in terms of rapid technologies development the subject-matter priority can be changed. Certainly, the budget is allocated for this period. Thus, the total amount of financing for program projects with the specialization in ICT envisages funds allocation in amount of 16 billion Euros. In terms of this program over than 600 subjects are covered.

The “HORIZON 2020” projects being realized in terms of consortium whose members have to be scientists of at least three countries, there is a relevant question related to the search of potential partners for such cooperation. An expert of NCP Yulia Lashyna spoke on the ways and means of that kind of search as well as on the experience of dealing with «NoGAP» projects being financed at the expenses of the Seventh framework program of EU for research and technological development (was preceded by “HORIZON 2020” program). The manager of “UKRAINE” project Igor Vladymyrskyi spoke on “UKRAINE” project (“Potential reproduction, awareness raising and implementation of innovations in Ukraine on the basis of EGNSS system”) that KPI experts together with fellow workers from European universities are working over and that is financed at the expenses of European agency for global satellite navigation systems in terms of “HORIZON 2020”.
